Dental Coverage
Per Medicare.gov, Medicare doesn't cover most dental care (including procedures and supplies like cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, dentures, dental plates, or other dental devices).
Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) will pay for certain dental services that you get when you're in a hospital. Part A can pay for hospital stays if you need to have emergency or complicated dental procedures, even though it doesn't cover dental care.
One may also purchase a stand-alone dental plan from Delta Dental or other dental insurance plans include those offered by your dental provider. When coming off an employer dental plan, be sure to ask if waiting periods on major services can be waived and what’s the highest coinsurance the insurance plan is willing to to pay on your behalf for those major services. Without prior dental insurance, one usually has a waiting period before major services are covered.
